i had someone this week define for me what a friend means to them. it was the most genuine and heartfelt description i think i’ve ever heard of a friend.
he also told me he doesn’t have any.
i’m so thankful for the gift of friendship. it’s just that- a gift.
c.s. lewis says, “friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art… it has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.”
